3 Day Jungle Trekking

 

 

Itinerary : 

 

 

 

We will pick you up at 9.00am from your accomodation in Bukit Lawang and we will start our 3 hour trek into the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park. We don't give a guarantee, but you might encounter wild orangutans, thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, hornbills, turtles, peacocks or monitor lizards.

 

First we pass public land with rubber and cacao plantations before we head to the entrance of the National park. We explore the jungle and try to spot orangutans.

 

During the trek (6-7 hours with breaks) we will tell you about the flora and fauna of the national park and teach you about the plants that we use for traditional medicine. We will then provide you with a local lunch (vegetarian) and continue walking through the jungle.

 

In the afternoon we will arrive at the camp site near the river. You are free to hop in the water or just relax. We provide coffee or tea and some cookies. Meanwhile our cook will provide an Indonesian dinner with multiple options to choose from (also vegetarian). After dinner we will sit together by candle light, listen to the sounds of the jungle, play cards or talk. You then go to sleep in the half open shelter surrounded by the sounds of the river and the jungle.

 

 

After breakfast we continue the trekking into the jungle, trying to find orang utans and other wildlife and learn more about orangutans. After lunch we continue trekking to the camp site by a river. You are free to hop in the water or just relax. We provide coffee or tea and some cookies. Meanwhile our cook will provide an Indonesian dinner with multiple options to choose from (also vegetarian). After dinner we will sit together by candle light, listen to the sounds of the jungle, play cards or talk. You then go to sleep in the half open shelter surrounded by the sounds of the river and the jungle.

 

 

After wake up our cook will provide coffee, tea and breakfast for you. You may again hop into the fresh waters of the river. Depending on the camp site we will then continue the jungle adventure and trek for ca. 2-3 hours or we just go to a waterfall where you can swim and relax. You are also free to just relax at the camp site. After lunch we will leave the camp by rafting following the river downstream back to Bukit Lawang.
